🎮 Gamifying Creativity: How Video Games Can Make You a Better Writer! ✍️📚

A FREE, hands-on creative writing workshop ideal for ages 8–12!

What if playing video games could actually make you a better storyteller? 🎮✨

Join middle-grade science fiction author Josh Weiss-Roessler for an exciting, interactive workshop where young writers and gamers discover how their favorite video game concepts can help them create unforgettable characters, imaginative worlds, and action-packed adventures!

Throughout this hour-long workshop, participants will tackle three creative challenges:

🧙 CHARACTER CREATION: Build your very own fictional character using a simplified character sheet! Choose their strengths, weaknesses, special abilities, and flaws to bring them to life.

🏫 SETTING AS LEVEL DESIGN: Work together to transform an ordinary school campus into an extraordinary video game level, complete with creative obstacles, opportunities, and surprises!

🎲 CO-OP PROBLEM-SOLVING: It's time to play! Guide your characters through a collaborative story challenge, using their unique strengths and abilities to overcome obstacles, solve problems, and beat the level!

Whether your child loves writing stories, playing video games, or simply letting their imagination run wild, this workshop offers a fun, engaging introduction to the building blocks of great storytelling. No writing experience required!
