We welcome a wide range of private events, including baby and bridal showers, birthday parties, engagement celebrations, small weddings and receptions, book clubs, workshops, corporate gatherings, and other intimate celebrations. If you’re not sure whether your event is a good fit, just reach out—we’re happy to chat.

Capacity varies depending on the layout and type of event. Intimate gatherings of anywhere from 5-50 people work best in our space, and we’ll help you determine the most comfortable setup based on your guest count and event needs.

Rentals include use of the space indoors and outdoors, flexible seating and layout options, on-site staff support, and access to our café offerings, including coffee, tea, mocktails, and option of beer, wine, and cocktails with the addition of one of our staff members to serve. Additional details can be customized based on your event.

Outside food is absolutely welcome! We will go over food and beverage details during the planning process to ensure we can accommodate your plans.

Yes! Light, non-damaging décor is welcome. We ask that all decorations be easily removable and approved in advance so the shop—and the books—stay safe.

Most private rentals take place outside regular business hours or involve reserving a portion of the shop. Full private buyouts during business hours may be available depending on timing and availability.

We recommend reaching out as early as possible, especially for weekends and special dates. Availability is limited, and events are booked on a first-come, first-served basis.

Pricing varies based on date, time, duration, and event needs, but we have included a sample range below to give you an idea of what to expect:
Half-Day Rental (Up to 4 hours)
Perfect for baby showers, birthday parties, small receptions, or private shopping events.
Weekday Half-Day: $525–$725
Weekend Half-Day: $725–$925
Full-Day Rental (Up to 8 hours)
Best for weddings, multi-part celebrations, workshops, festivals, or corporate events.
Weekday Full-Day: $1,000 - $1,500
Weekend Full-Day: $1,500–$2,000
